Most doctors treat what they can see. Our naturopathic physicians dig deeper — into your labs, your history, and your lifestyle — to find and fix what's actually driving your symptoms.
Naturopathic medicine is a complete system of primary care built around a simple premise: the body has an extraordinary capacity to heal itself when given the right conditions and support.
Our NDs are trained as primary care physicians — four years of graduate medical school, with additional emphasis on clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, homeopathy, physical medicine, and lifestyle counseling. They diagnose. They order labs. They prescribe.
The difference is in how they practice. Where a conventional visit might be 10 minutes and a prescription, a naturopathic appointment is unhurried, comprehensive, and focused on understanding the full picture before recommending anything.
We're not an alternative to medicine. We're a deeper version of it.
We treat a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. Below are the areas we see most often — but if you don't see your concern listed, call us. Chances are we can help.
Low testosterone, estrogen dominance, thyroid dysfunction, adrenal fatigue, and perimenopause/menopause symptoms.
Chronic fatigue, persistent tiredness despite sleep, brain fog, and unexplained drops in stamina or motivation.
IBS, bloating, constipation, leaky gut, acid reflux, food sensitivities, and chronic digestive discomfort.
Frequent illness, autoimmune conditions, chronic inflammation, and poor post-infection recovery.
Anxiety, depression, irritability, and emotional dysregulation with a focus on underlying biochemistry and lifestyle.
Blood sugar dysregulation, insulin resistance, high cholesterol, hypertension, and pre-diabetes support.
Insomnia, poor sleep quality, restless nights, and fatigue that sleep doesn't resolve — investigated and treated at the source.
Comprehensive preventive care for patients who want proactive oversight of their health — not just visits when something is wrong.
We don't rush. A first appointment at IWCAZ is designed to give your provider the full picture before making a single recommendation.
Your ND sits with you and reviews your full health history — past diagnoses, medications, symptoms, diet, sleep, and stress. This is the conversation most doctors don't have time for. We do.
A thorough physical examination to assess your current state of health, identify areas of concern, and guide the lab work order.
Where appropriate, we order a comprehensive panel tailored to your symptoms and goals — not just the standard annual minimum. We look for optimal ranges, not just "normal."
Once labs return, your ND walks you through every number, explains what it means in plain language, and builds a personalized treatment plan — which may include nutritional protocols, supplements, prescriptions, or referrals.
We schedule follow-ups to track your progress, adjust your protocol as your body responds, and keep you moving in the right direction. The same provider, every visit.
Standard lab reference ranges are designed to flag disease — not to identify suboptimal function. A "normal" TSH doesn't mean your thyroid is working well. A "normal" testosterone doesn't mean your levels are right for you.
Our NDs are trained to read labs through an optimal range lens — looking at where you should be functioning, not just ruling out what's catastrophically wrong. That's a meaningful difference when it comes to catching problems early and building effective protocols.
We can order labs during your visit or review results you've already received. We use Access Labs for bloodwork and walk you through every panel in plain language.
Not sure where to start? Book an initial consultation and we'll determine which panels make the most sense for your symptoms and goals.
Common Panels We Order
You've been prescribed medications that mask symptoms without addressing what's causing them. You want a provider who asks deeper questions and builds a real plan.
Your labs came back normal but you still feel exhausted, foggy, or unwell. We look further — and we look differently — to find what's being missed.
No PCP? We can serve as your primary care provider for ongoing wellness, annual exams, prescriptions, and lab management.
You're not sick — you just want to optimize. Better energy, better sleep, sharper focus, and a clear picture of where your health stands and where it's headed.
Whether you're dealing with a hormone disorder, metabolic issue, or autoimmune condition, we provide ongoing co-management with a focus on reducing dependence on medications over time.
We tell you what we find, what we think, and what we recommend — and we explain our reasoning. No rushed answers. No brushing things off.
Most clinics are built around volume. We're built around outcomes. That shapes everything from how long your appointment lasts to how deeply we investigate before recommending anything.
Our NDs hold full naturopathic medical degrees and are licensed by the Arizona Naturopathic Physicians Medical Board.
We don't run 8-minute visits. Your ND takes the time to understand your full history before making any recommendations.
We're free to recommend what's actually right for you — not what an insurer will reimburse. Transparent pricing, no surprises.
You build a real relationship with your ND. They know your history, track your progress, and adjust your plan as you improve.
"The people here are all very friendly and helpful. I've had a wonderful experience. They listen, take their time, and actually explain what's going on."
— Kevin Connolly, Google ReviewYes. Naturopathic doctors (NDs) complete four-year graduate medical programs at accredited naturopathic medical schools, covering the same foundational sciences as conventional medical school — plus clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, and other naturopathic disciplines. In Arizona, NDs are licensed by the Arizona Naturopathic Physicians Medical Board and are authorized to diagnose, order labs, and prescribe within their scope of practice.
We are a cash-pay clinic and do not bill insurance directly. Many patients find that this actually works in their favor — appointments are longer, care is more thorough, and we're never limited by what a payer will or won't cover. We can provide a receipt that some patients submit to their insurance or HSA/FSA for potential reimbursement.
Yes. Many of our patients use IWCAZ as their primary care provider — we handle annual exams, ongoing health management, lab ordering and review, prescriptions, and referrals when needed. If you don't currently have a PCP, we're a solid option for comprehensive ongoing care.
If you have any recent lab work, imaging, or medical records, bring them along — they give your ND useful context. Otherwise, just come prepared to have an honest conversation about your health history, current symptoms, medications, and goals. We'll take it from there.
The biggest difference is time and depth. A conventional primary care visit often runs 7–15 minutes and focuses on the presenting complaint. A naturopathic visit is longer, covers your full history, and looks for underlying patterns. We also read lab results through an optimal-range lens rather than just ruling out disease. The goal is to understand what's actually driving your symptoms — not just to manage them.
Yes, Arizona NDs have prescribing authority within their scope of practice. We're more likely to start with nutritional, lifestyle, and botanical interventions when appropriate — but we prescribe when it's the right clinical decision. We also commonly work with compounding pharmacies for customized formulations, particularly for hormone therapy.
